Dana.
I believe in receiving and in giving back. Dana is a Sanskrit word that means “giving away as charity” In some schools of yoga, Dana is one of the moral observances knowns as the Niyamas.
Dana is a form of generous giving that expects nothing in return. It’s given from the heart.
Everyday Refugees Foundation
A few month ago I came across a series of photos by Muhammed Muheisen, the Founder of Everyday Refugees Foundation. His work, through his art, that is photography, is to help refugees and local communities that are displaced because of wars, natural disasters and poverty.
“Through our projects, we aim to raise awareness about refugee issues, opening people’s eyes and hearts to the situation worldwide. Furthermore, through these projects we encourage you to get involved either by donating to a project, and other future projects or through volunteer work”
“Facts to know- an estimated number of 79.5 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 26 million of refugees”
I am proud to be an active contributor to the projects led by Everyday Refugees Foundation through donations from the teaching of yoga.
